I was a part year resident of both MA and AL, but I know my exact income from both states from W-2 forms (had 2 jobs). Why is Turbotax making me complete a NR-PY form?

I have a similar problem and received this answer which might help you. Hopefully the problem will be resolved by the end of Friday. Here’s the answer I received:

There is currently an issue in TurboTax related to the Massachusetts NR/PY form. If you are experiencing the error below, please click the blue link listed at the end to give your email address in order to get notified of when this issue will be resolved. Thank you.

Some TurboTax customers who are Non-Residents/Part Year Residents of MA are being asked to apportion their income during the Smart Check, and cannot proceed.

Who Is Affected?
Customers affected by this meet the following:

Completing a MA State return in which they are a Non-Resident or Part year resident
Only claiming MA source income

We are aware of this issue and it is scheduled to be fix in a product release on 3/23. Please click here to receive email updates as they become available.
