I am asked "Enter the date you will pay the balance due on your New York State income tax return." What date should i enter here? is there some deadline for this?

Enter the date your money can be withdrawn from your bank preferably before April 17, 2019. If you don't have the money to pay the balance all at once, you may be able to set up a payment plan with NYS.

Thankyou, will it be automatically drawn from my bank? or do i have to pay by myself? I am filing my tax for first time so i'm confused how payment works.

Yes, if you choose the Direct Debit option and specify the date for the money to be withdrawn from your account, the money will be done automatically. You can also choose to send a check or money order. There may also be an online option on the NY Department of Revenue website.
