MY STATE REFUND WAS LESS THAN I EXPECTED

The state will send you a letter explaining the change.  TurboTax does not get any feedback from your state after your return is accepted, so no one at TT knows why your state refund was less.   Did you owe back taxes, child support, or student loans?  Traffic fines, etc.?

Thank You for a reply.

nothing from Nebraska yet, it was a simple single 66-year-old making 26k, nothing owed, no child support,  and turbo tax said about 6k in return, Property tax was 15k, I understand TT will not receive any info from the state. I was just wondering how to find out what the state saw as my mistake, I have looked over the NE web site, but I get lost in finding the info I need.

Calling, sitting on hold all day is no fun. I'll wait a few more day before I start to get worried

Thank You again.

"it was a simple single 66-year-old making 26k,"

If your income was around $26K, it would be very unrealistic to expect a state refund of more than $6K.  It is very likely that you made an error with a misplaced decimal point or an added zero when you entered information from your W-2.  You will receive a letter from the state.

Was the 6,000 refund in regard to the Nebraska Property Tax Credit?

When you say that property tax paid was 15,000, was that for just one year?

If the payment includes multiple years, a separate Form PTC may be required.
