Form SC8453 is your declaration for electronic filing. The numbers on the form come from your SC-1040.
If you want to make any changes, do so on the SC-1040 and any related forms and schedules.
If you’ve already reported all your dividends, change the amount that is from South Carolina.
Thanks for the response, but I had already entered it correctly, same as you described. It would not carry it into the SC return. I tried a lot of different ways after that before asking here. The only way it finally worked today was: on the dividend entry, I filled in the state section at the bottom where you can enter the state and state ID#. I only entered “SC” and no ID or amount since my 1099-DIV didn’t have anything in the state section. Then the SC1040 magically showed the correct amount (the “Multiple States” amt.). Thanks again for your effort.
