was it accepted by the IRS or Turbo Tax?
did the IRS accept it
The IRS accepted mine. I believe when we say it's been accepted we are all referring to it being accepted and filed with the IRS. I received an email from TurboTax, "Your federal tax return was accepted by the IRS".
So I was on TT and after following the steps to add my 1099 it gave me a calculation for my fed return.
I went all the way to the end and that’s when it said that my return would not be free. I hopped over to TaxSlayer (which is sponsored by the irs) and when I inputted the same info, they taxed me on the $700. Why did TT not tax me, but taxslayer did?? I wonder if TT isn’t collecting the tax required for the MCTR.
Anybody else noticed this?
I’ve been rejected 4 times too and now I’m scared to try again because after I had already tried 4 times, someone wrote that if you’re rejected 5 times you can no longer e-file and you have to mail in your tax returns. I’m mad because I had asked a Turbo Tax expert if it would hurt me to try e-filing for the 4th time and she said no, and then I find out you only get 5 tries. Apparently she didn’t know that.
@Maya_D831 i am pretty sure there were a few on here who said they tried more than 5 times. If anyone has tried more than 5 times and has now been accepted please comment. You could also check with the IRS but that doesn’t sound right to me.
@Maya_D831 if you get rejected then it does not count towards the 5. you get 5 successful efiles not rejections. my daughter did it 7 and i tried 5 times before getting accepted yesterday.
none of the forms on your list involve the CA MCTR , I have now successfully e filed and they have been accepted on Saturday morning
Up completely agree turbo tax needs to fix this
I tried to request a refund said they couldn’t do it. Wasted money problem not resolved wow
I also had 5+ rejections. I was accepted yesterday. The 5-file-rule is for successful e-files. So that you know how many people you can file under 1 purchase. But each person can attempt their own efile “technically as many times as necessary” I read on another website yesterday.
I was successful today 01.30.2023 with Fed efiling
hi can you please tell me what the payer's federal ID Number is for the mctr 1099 form I misplaced my 1099 and just missing the id number?

Thank you so much!
