I paid my taxes by the due date back in April, my tax liability hasn't changed. I filed a federal tax extension and was approved back in April, and according to NJ tax authority I just have to send a copy of my federal extension when I file my state taxes. How do I do that?

Did you not file a New Jersey extension in April? If you filed a New Jersey extension you do not have to send a copy of the federal extension with your New Jersey tax return. It doesn't matter whether you filed a federal extension.
If you did not file a New Jersey extension, you only have to send a copy of your federal extension if you file your New Jersey tax return on paper, i.e. by mail. If you are filing your New Jersey tax return by mail, just include a copy of the federal extension. If you are e-filing your New Jersey tax return you do not have to send a copy of your federal extension. You only have to check a box on the New Jersey return indicating that you filed a federal extension. TurboTax will check that box if the federal extension is included in the federal section of TurboTax.
BUT - do you owe any tax to New Jersey? If you don't owe any tax, it doesn't matter whether you filed a federal extension or whether the box is checked on the New Jersey tax return. There is no penalty for filing late if you do not owe tax.

OP says: "I paid my taxes by the due date "
Therefore he/she did owe tax and would be filing late now without an extension.
I did not file an extension and owed taxes, which were paid by the April tax date. I followed the instructions for If You Are Filing a Federal Extension here on the NJ Division of Taxation website.

Am I liable for a late fee?
You are not making a clear distinction between federal and New Jersey taxes. Did you owe New Jersey tax and pay it by the due date? If you paid New Jersey tax in April, how did you pay it without filing a New Jersey extension?
If you did file a New Jersey extension, then the instructions under "If You Are Filing a Federal Extension" do not apply to you. The New Jersey web page does not make that clear.
I checked my records on the NJ Tax website and it indicates I did file an extension when paying my taxes, although I don't think I filled out the NJ-630 form. I just made a payment for extension on their website.
