filling a state return as non-resident

I lived in Georgia for all of 2021.  We still own a rental home in Illinois, which generated around $10,000 in rental  income.  Does this require that I file state returns for both GA and IL?

Yes.  Rental income from a property located in Illinois is taxable by Illinois.  All your income, including that from Illinois, is taxable by your home state of Georgia.

You'll be able to claim a credit on your GA return for the taxes paid to IL, so you won't be double-taxed.

In TurboTax, be sure to complete the non-resident state return first, so that the program can calculate and apply the credit correctly.
