federal itimized deductions used in CA state

1) the itemized deductions we entered for federal tax were not chosen because the standard deduction proved beter.

Now - will California State tax section still inherit and try the itemized deductions?

2) after entering our property tax in business expense for federal, our overall property tax for federal tax was doubled. What's going on?

Your itemized deductions can be used on the California return even if they were not used on your Federal.

Also, your property tax is not limited to $10,000 on your California as it is on your Federal.

Please clarify what property tax you entered for what business expense that resulted in what overall property tax for Federal being doubled.
