Federal income tax withholding

I am a California resident and recently sold a house in New York.  Is the federal income withholding tax required for US citizens to sell a house?  I already paid the New York nonresident withholding tax, do I need to pay the California withholding tax for selling a New York house?

Federal income tax withholding

California law requires withholding when a person (an individual, business entity, trust, or estate) sells California real property unless the seller qualifies for an exemption. So, you don't need to pay California withholding as the seller of a New York property.
