TTax is looking for my employers name on the state return. I was not employed (retired) so I don't have an employer name. Please advise.

Did you receive a 1099-R for your retirement in 2019? If so, who did you receive your retirement income from?
You may want to check your entries in TurboTax to make sure that you are not showing an W-2 that is triggering this question. Here's how:
Great job digging! You need to delete the UE form. It is under the state of PA, buried in those forms. Follw my instructions above, scroll down until you find PA and delete the UE.

Per advice I revisited Wages and Salaries The "I don't have any W-2s box was not checked. I checked it and ran the review section. Got same request for Employer information. When I relooked at the Wages and Salaries section, the box I checked was now UNchecked. Is this my problem? How can this be fixed in TTax?
Please open the section as if you did have a W-2. It is possible that you have an empty posting listed as Untitled. Delete that entry and it should clear the problem.
Thank you for your reply. However, opening the Wage and Salary section, the is no W2 entry with any company data that could be deleted. There is in the employee section my address that must have flowed from the initial personal section. I still am not able to get rid of this.
Have you looked at your forms to see if something is stuck in there? Here is how to delete unwanted information:
Check in both the federal area for a worksheet from a W2 that may have carried over, anything else that could be misconstrued, check state forms. Good luck!
If there is still something wrong, you may want to contact a specialist that can work through that section of the return with you.
I am sorry to continue this but I did more searching and the thing that is stopping the PA state return is a schedule UE unreimbursed expenses (from a job I didn't have). The help information said it comes from the Federal data which I cannot find. Could you please point me to that area? I really appreciate your patience on this. I have been a TTax user for many years and never have run into this snag. Not much has changed from tax data from year to year.
Thank you!

Joyce p. zavatkay is retired from state employment. the 1099r form is from the office of the state comproller
Why are you telling us this? Are you having a problem entering her 1099-R? Or are you having an issue on a state return? If so, what state and what issue?
