Hi @Stardust734
Did this resolve for you on its own?
The state of Maryland may be taking longer than usual this year to process returns and reviews. Recently, Governor Hogan signed the RELIEF Act of 2021, which contained many changes to the tax law in response to COVID-19 issues and the Comptroller's office is working to implement these changes.
Just be patient and keep checking Where's My Refund? on the Comptroller of Maryland website.
I received the same letter. Have you received your refund yet @clavon2004
have you received your refund yet?
I received the same letter two weeks ago. But still no refund
The state revenue may send a letter if income tax return has been adjusted and listed the new adjusted refund amount. The best way to find out if it was a legit letter is to call Comptroller of Maryland.
Did you ever receive an update or your return? I got this message four weeks after you
@Celina0207 Did you ever receive an update or your return? I got this letter 2 weeks after you
@DaveF1006 @Why is no one coming back to tell us the result of the letter. Did they slip into a void ? Are the in prison now ? I hope it’s cause they just go their tax return and we’re too lazy to return to this page to tell us how long it took

You are responding to a question from two years ago. And asking a question to someone who is no longer in this community from over one year ago.

after the 45 day period was over I kept calling comptroller of Maryland to get the status. One of the tax experts sent a letter to the Annapolis location to get an update and about a couple days later I received my refund
@Celina0207 A tax expert through the comptrollers office wrote a letter ? Or you hired someone ?
@DoninGA you caught me loitering in the forum. I was on a quest to invoke one of @DaveF1006 famous zen forum responses. Amongst the chaos of responses from people who aren’t experts or champs. The voice of reason, Expert Dave’s informed post read something like [it’s not a big dill just chill, normal stuff, would be nice if the state didn’t takes it’s sweet time to finish the reviews]. Contrary to your response dave hasn’t slipped into nonactive member abyss. In 2021 Expert Dave is active in the TT community. Thank you for the practical advice, I could have indeed started a new thread but as Expert Dave said the state takes their sweet time and like the ancient proverb goes waiting ‘It’s circular. It’s like a carousel. You pay the quarter, you get on the horse, it goes up and down, and AROUND. It's circular. Circle, with the music, the flow. All good things.’ -Confucius. Also another member said just call the comptroller also great advice.
I am wondering what the different badges indicate e.i. ‘expert‘ ‘champ’ do badges equate to paid turbo tax forum contributor or passionate novice?!
@Mary Beth lewis The titles you see are used by TurboTax to designate certain attributes associated to the person's User ID.
The Expert title is someone who is a certified tax professional, such as a CPA or EA and is a paid employee of TurboTax.
The Champ title is for someone who has been vetted by TurboTax to give advice on tax issues and the TurboTax program but is not, per se, a tax professional (although they very well can be) and is Not a TurboTax employee.
DaveF1006 is an employee of TurboTax, along with other Experts and Employee's who are used during tax season to assist user's with their tax questions/problems. Most all of these Experts are only in this forum during tax season which is normally from January thru the due date of the current tax year tax return.
If you view the profile for DaveF1006 you will see that he has not posted on this forum since May 18, 2021
