It says that the total income derived from other states and included in Kansas AGI (line 3) should not exceed Kansas AGI (line 4).
Even though there is an amount on line 3, Form K-40 of 11937, it is not reflected on this worksheet on line 4. It won't let me enter it myself either. I was going to try to enter all of the numbers myself, but even if I could, I am stuck on line 1. It shows 0 for income tax actually paid for MO, which would be correct if that amount does not include withholding, and I don't believe that it does. Nothing is entered for MO adjusted gross income on this form either, even though the amount of 11937 is shown on line 5 of the MO-1040. So I am stuck on what to do . . . I wish that TurboTax handled these two-state returns more eloquently, since the written instructions on the tax forms are not very understandable.
I could continue past the error, and I do not think that this will affect the outcome of my return, however, I am always hesitant to leave an error in TurboTax go unresolved.
This is related to another question that I asked:
Community Discussions Taxes State tax filing
I had forgotten how frustrating it was to file in both KS and MO, can anyone help?

Thank you all so much for helping me understand how things were supposed to work.
I understand conceptually how things work.
I finally contacted support and they are not sure why the numbers from the K-40 didn't populate, but they were able to help me override the blanks in the form to complete the return without errors.
I am good now. Happy tax season!
