Can I prepare 5-7 tax returns and what would be my cost? 2 returns are Maryland residents. tax returns will include w-2s and 1099s

You should be using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions if needing to complete multiple tax returns.  Use the Deluxe edition or higher since the purchase price includes one free state program download.  There are no charges for creating and completing multiple tax returns after the purchase of the desktop software.  All the desktop editions include the same forms, schedules and worksheets.  More help and guidance is available when upgrading from one edition to the next edition.

The desktop editions come with 5 free federal tax return e-files (number set by IRS rules).  After the 5 e-files have been used any further tax returns can only be printed and mailed.  There is an e-file charge for a state tax return that is currently $24.99 for each state tax return e-filed.  However, the charge can be avoided if you print and mail the state tax returns.
