Hi, I am using TT Premier desktop version and when I try to e-file my state (California) is showing a filing fee of $200 when it is advertised in TT website to be $20. I do not remember that past years I paid anything close to $200. Anyone have a clue on what’s wrong here? Thanks!

@Mahergo And it looks like you selected to have the fees deducted from your federal refund? That may make a difference in the display. Try paying with a credit card. And you will avoid the extra $45 Audit Defense charge (unless you wanted it).
In the California Desktop program to remove Audit Defense and Premium Services you have to change to pay the $20 or 25 state efile fee by credit card and not by having it deducted from your federal refund. Or print and mail state for free. Go back through the File tab again and change to pay with a credit card. Then if Audit Defense is still there you can remove it.
Gee I wonder if that is a typo on the screen? A couple years ago there was a big typo like that. I bet it will charge you right but you better call in and ask. Start the FILE tab over and go through it again. Maybe you selected some other services too. Can you please post a screen shot? Haven't seen anyone else complain about that yet.

Tried to start over the e-filing process and got the same $200. Absurd.

Wow. I just filed Federal and California and got charged $10 after the 10 credit from Costco. And didn't have any problems like I see posted. No white screens, no making me have it deducted from refund, no wrong prices. On Windows 10.

Hi, this is exactly what I did, went back and marked pay by credit card and even if the screen was still showing $200 fee, when I got to the payment window it finally showed only $20 and that is what I was charged. It must have any weird glitch in the system. Thanks for your advice.
They probably should look at it to fix the display. You can give them a sanitized diagnostic file. Post the token number here in this thread.
TurboTax Desktop
1. Click into your return.
2. Click Online and select "Send Tax File to Agent".
3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created. Click on OK, the tax file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
4. Please provide the Token Number that was generated onto a response
