I eFile Federal but submit state on paper. The bank account info for depositing the refund does not transfer from the federal form to the state form. This has not happened in the past. What is going on?
Thanks,
Rob

Well..it certainly depends on what state is involved, since many states don't have a direct-deposit field for paper-filed tax returns, and they will only mail-file the refund if you mail-file.
But...a couple of things to check if your state does do this :
1) The Federal Direct-deposit information may not automatically transfer to the state forms. Many people use different accounts for deposits, so you must specifically enter the Bank and D.Deposit information during the filing stages of the interview. Federal refund answers for the selection of the refund method,,,,, those selections should be entirely separate from the state Refund selections. SO you may not have gone thru the entire filing/printing process in the interview to make those state D.Deposit selections.
2) Still can't find it?
.............Switch to "Forms Mode" look for, and open your state "Information Worksheet " down in the state section. On that sheet, down around Part V (part # varies for different states) there are all the fields for selecting and indicating the routing/account numbers for a State D.Deposit of a refund. You can make your selections there, but may need to switch back to the interview mode to run your error checks after doing that, since some setting may require certain non-obvious selections in the interview. (Mine, NC, specifically indicates D.Deposit is for electronic filing only, so I can't use it for a mail-filed state tax return)
Hello. Thanks for the quick response. I'm in MD and did go to the form and try to enter the information, but the form would not let me do that. I also tried to locate it in the interview and didn't find it, but that's on me I think - need to go look again.
Thanks, Rob
.....not sure why the MD Info Worksheet wouldn't let you enter anything in there. My NC form does, but then, I haven't even started the filing process to select E- vs Mail filing yet.
Can always get help from Customer Support if you can't find the spot (I don't have MD software...if it proceeds differently, I can't check it):

Ok, I just went through the interview again, and all the banking information was entered and correct. It simply didn't transfer to the MD state form.
NOW - having gone through and looking at it, and viewing the form for mailing - THE PROBLEM HAS GONE AWAY. Not sure what else to say. 🙂
Thanks for your help.
