@user17604794158 while not an expert on MI taxes and being generally familiar with Michigan Taxation for individuals, I really need more information as to the details of the situation for the question. I say this because MI uses "nexus" in quite a few statutes covering different areas of taxation.
(a) Are you a owner of a business or an individual ?
(b) What type of financial connection / income to MI ( e.g. rental, pension, interest/dividend from MI entity , capital gain , sales commission, sales tax, insurance commission etc. etc.) ?
(c) Are you a resident of a reciprocal state?
(d) Are you a partner / investor of a MI entity ?
As you can see from my questions, there is lot of info needed to narrow down the field and then guide you to the actual and applicable statute.
