What if I have two 1099-R for my wife? One is for a partial distribution earlier this year, one for total distribution when she was discharged later this year.

Your system won't allow me to enter two 1099-R for the same place.  Do I just add the amounts from both 1099-R for the one entry?

No enter them one at a time in the Retirement section. After you enter the 1st 1099-R, select the 'add a 1099-R' link for the 2nd form. To navigate to the section:

  • In your open return, select My Account
  • Tools
  • Topic Search
  • Type '1099-R' in the box, then select GO

See attachment.
