Two SSA-1099s: One is mine and the second from my deceased parent

Where do I enter my deceased parent's SSA-1099 if I already have an SSA-1099 for myself?

My SSA-1099 income is from SSDI, if that matters.

Thanks.

Well, you indicated you received two Form SSA-1099's.  If both of the SSA-1099 have your Social Security number in box 2 then you would add the amounts in box 5 together and enter the total on your tax return.  Is this what you received?

If the parent's Social Security number is in box 2 of the Form SSA-1099 then it would be reported on the parent's tax return.  If that is the only income the parent received for the year then there is no need to file the parent's tax return.

Thanks, Donin. I think I wasn't clear:

I am filing my own taxes; this isn't about the parent's tax return and is not part of the estate.

My adult siblings and I each received checks for the parent's O/A/O.

I already have entered my own Social Security.

Where do I enter the O/A/O amount?

Do I just add it to my SS amount?

OK yes; both forms have my SSN in Box 2.

I will use the sum of the two SSA-1099s.
