Where are you entering the ACH number for your bank account?
The routing number is 9 digits, the account number for a bank account is not limited to nine digits, my account number is 13 digits and entered with no problem.
Thanks for the quick reply. I was trying to enter the Routing number and account number on the Filing screen where you specify your ACH options. This is on the desktop product, not the web. I carefully confirmed and reconfirmed my entries (and yes, it took the Routing number fine) and tried both copy-paste and direct entry of the account number. It stops taking entry after the seventh digit.
In the mean time I contacted Intuit support and even a level 2 rep could provide no solution other than to print and mail, or efile and mail a check. Not happy with either, as I'm doing these taxes for my mother who turns 99 in June. The whole idea was to make it easy for her - not so easy after all. Pretty disgusted with the product and support quality on a product that's been around forever.
@bothofus2 I am using the 2024 TurboTax Premier desktop edition for Windows and have already filed and received a direct deposit for tax refund to my bank account. The account number field on my edition did not have any problem accepting 13 digits for an account number.
Have you updated your software to the latest release? Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen and click on Check for Updates.
You also may want to close the program and reboot the computer just to make sure the application has everything updated.
Yep, tried all that and no joy. I've given up - just going to file electronically and have my mother mail the check. Done messing with it! Thanks just the same for the help.
Just an FYI, you may have tried filing with just the last nine number on the account just in case if there were leading zeros before the last nine numbers.
