Per Massachusetts, for tax year 2020, your total Massachusetts income must not exceed $61,000 for a single individual who is not the head of a household. It is defined as follows:
Massachusetts adjusted gross income; plus
Full amount of Social Security benefits received before Medicare premiums; plus
Pensions/annuities/IRA/Keogh distributions not taxed on your Massachusetts tax return; plus
Miscellaneous income, including cash public assistance
equals Massachusetts total income.
