If all your IRA contributions were tax-deductible when you made them, the full amount of the RMD will be treated as ordinary income for the year in which you take it. If you also made nondeductible contributions to your IRAs, some of the amount won't be subject to income taxes.

Where do you think it says your RMD is deductible?

RMD just means that you must withdraw a portion of your IRA each year (equal to or more than the required minimum amount).  In other words, you can't leave your IRA untouched tax-free for your family to inherit, you must withdraw it and pay the income tax and use the money.

There is nothing special that makes an RMD tax-deductible, the whole point is you have to withdraw the money and pay the tax.  In some cases, your IRA might be partly tax-free—if you invested non-deductible funds in a traditional IRA—but this would be true for all your IRA withdrawals, not just the RMD part.  You will need to explain more what you are thinking.

I may not have phrased it well enough. I was trying to determine if any of my RMD could be applied against the standard deduction.

There's nothing special about your RMD, it's taxable income like any other taxable income.  You add all your taxable income, apply the standard or itemized deduction, and pay tax on whatever is left.

It's the other way around.  The Standard Deduction is applied to and subtracted from all your income, including the RMD.

Thank you for helping me.

When you get to the time to take RMDs, that's when the bad news kicks in - it is all taxable ordinary income, no tax breaks.
