Thanks for the clear answer.
The SSA provided a corrected 1099 so now I must amend the 2023 return. I prepared an amended return with TT 2023. When I finished amending the return, TT provided the form 1040-X as well as an amended 10040-SR. Do I need to mail in the amended 1040-SR along with the 1040-X?
Yes, I would include the Form 1040-SR because the social security amount changed. There is no need to send anything else. It's also not necessary to file the Form SSA-1099. The IRS and Social Security systems exchange information on a regular basis.
