Retirement tax questions
Yes, you can do it by using the steps below. When you enter your SSA-1099 as usual with the full amount being reported. Next you can remove the portion that should not be duplicated on your return.
Open your TurboTax Online/Mobile or TurboTax Desktop return:
- Search (upper right) > type social security income > Click the jump to.. link > Enter your SSA-1099
Other Miscellaneous Income:
- Sign into your TurboTax Online account
- Go to Tax Home (left panel) Wages and Income section
- Scroll to Less Common Income > Select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
- Select Other reportable Income >
- Enter the description SS Duplicate and a negative amount (-100)
