I added my 1099-MSC (income) as a new addition instead of adding it as under the current business (INTERPRETING). How can I fix it?

The best way to correct this 1099-MISC entry is to delete it.

If you entered it as a new business under Self-Employment, you can get back to a Summary section through the Income and Expenses tab.

Select Self-Employment under the full list of income.  Here you will see the added business and delete.

If you added the 1099-MISC under Other Common Income.  You can delete it there.

Once deleted, you can add it where you need to.

Here's how to Delete a form if the above methods do not work:

1.  Go to Tax Tools (on bottom left-hand side of screen)

2.  Select Tools (expanded box will appear in the middle of your screen)

3.  Choose Delete a Form

4.  Find 1099-MISC entered incorrectly and select to Delete

5.  As a step to be sure the form has been deleted, run through step 4 once more to be sure the form was deleted as well as any related worksheets
