Tennessee does not have a state income tax, so you would not need to make an entry for the employer's state tax ID number, as there is no such number for Tennessee.
I understand we don't have state tax but it keeps prompting me to fill in a state employer ID number before it will continue. It's highlighted in red. It states leave blank if you don't have state taxes, so I did but it will not go any further. It keeps saying "review" as if it needs to be updated or corrected
You probably need to leave every field in the entire state line blank. No "TN" either
You didn't specify what type of form you are entering...but
Boxes 14,15,16 if on a 1099-R...........blank
Boxes 15,16,17 if on a W-2................blank
