It is free to file an amendment tax return (1040X) unless you have to add forms that require an upgrade. But deleting a form from your return doesn't require an upgrade.

You might want to wait until your refund or payment is processed until filing the 1040X to avoid any delays. The IRS will only accept amended returns via mail.
