Second home sale

Sold a second home in the state of VT and paid $13K to the state of VT as non-resident state tax.  As a full time resident in NYS, will I owe NYS taxes in sale of this second home located  in VT?

Second home sale

In general, your resident state taxes you on World income and will give you credit for taxes paid to another state.  So this sale/ transaction will require filing in both states ( Non-Resident state  and Resident State).

Does this make sense ?
