When will the retirement income section of the 2019 Turbo Tax be ready? It indicates 1/21/2020 which was quite a while ago.

The retirement section is ready. Are you having a specific issue with it?

Where do I enter my 1099-R?

You'll get a 1099-R if you received $10 or more from a retirement plan. Here's how to enter your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. To Enter a 1099-R in TurboTax
  2. Open (continue) return if you don't already have it open.
  3. Inside TurboTax, search for 1099-R and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  4. Answer Yes on the Your 1099-R screen, then select Continue.

I've done all that and it tells me it isn't ready. I've updated, do I need to do something else?

I am getting the same thing.  When will the software be corrected or updated?  Turbo Tax says 01/21/2020.

If you are speaking about Form 8915-A and Form 8915-B.  Per our updates, they are not available until 02/20/2020.  Congress enacted special tax relief to make it easier for the retirement plan participants (including IRA owners) to access their retirement funds to recover from disaster losses incurred while living in certain federally declared disaster areas in 2016 and 2017.

For more information, see here Disaster relief bills.
