I am wondering why I didn't qualify for the EITC this year since the income threshold went up this year, I should have been able to qualify.

So I am just now finding out that the last year threshold was just over $56,000 and I had made $53,000 and I didn't get my EITC, and this year I made just over $57,000 and the threshold is just over that as well this year. Is there some other reason I wouldn't qualify? I have 2 school age children that are claimed as dependents.

It appears that both years, your AGI is more than the maximum AGI for 2 claimed children and this disqualifies you from the Earned Income credit. For 2020, the maximum AGI is $53,330 and for 2021, it is $53,865.

The income limit of $57,000+ is for 3 children, not two.
