They were oh so willing to take my money BEFORE it was told that I couldn't file my taxes. Which I think is total bull**bleep**. On top of that, I never even had the free option to begin with!!!! Straight to charging from the beginning. Which is fine, whatever, but don't take money from people with the false pretense they can file their taxes. And better yet, DON'T SELL THEM ON IT saying "OhHhHh, YoU gOt A bEtTeR pRiCe By PaYiNg NoW" That's total horse**bleep** and they're just trying to make themselves look better because they **bleep**ed up. THEY SHOULD BE OFFERING REFUNDS and discounts honestly. No one else if having this issue except for TurboTax and they're severely hurting their clientele by their **bleep**ty tactics and customer service. I'd rather pay triple somewhere else than waste my time dealing with all of this bull**bleep** and just out of spite so they wouldn't get the money.
Well that makes it even more annoying!
Now Jan 31 and getting the same issue. Have been charged $128 for filing a very simple 1040 and can't even e-file, which is literally the whole point of this. Yikes.
If they take it from your refund they often charge a $40 processing fee, be sure to read the fine print.
Exactly what I'm thinking. First time in years I did my taxes myself and it turns into not knowing when I will be able to submit them due to a change in processing. BS. I spent 3 hours to repeatedly get an error over nothing I've done wrong.
What about the people that opted to have it taken out of their return and are trying to to file now? I started this process a week and a half ago and was ready to file then but can't until this is fixed!
Also having the same issue for F which is what is on my w-2 for my contributions to my SEP
IT'S GO TIME! I was just able to e-file!
Yep. I haven't filed yet but it let me finalize the input. My wife's W-2 Box 12 shows a 408(p) Simple IRA plan and it now asked whether any of her contributions shown on the Box 12 (Code S) went to a Simple Roth IRA plan, which they did not because she has a 408(p). That was it.
So you paid but it wouldn't let you file? I got to a point where it said if I didn't fix it there may be fees. But S is correct so as long as turbo tax will e-file it, seems like the IRS would accept.
Thank you to the person who posted that is working now. I was also able to e-file.
I have paid and it would let me file, but I need some info from my wife before I can file, so will file later this evening.
If yall are monitoring this post LIKE I AM - several times daily - this is for you. I was just able to file my return with My S code and it went through! Looks like 1/31 towards the end of the day they got their lives together!
Yep. I just filed with S code in Box 12 as well. Again, the only additional question now is whether any of the contributions went to a Simple Roth IRA which they did not because S is just for a Simple IRA --408(p).
Like so many others in this thread, I was set to file on the 29th, and I have also been getting this same message. When I opened TT today, the message changed slightly to "Check back after Feb. 7." I really hope it doesn't take that long to address this issue. I normally hit my tax calculations pretty close to right on the head because I don't like giving Uncle Sam an interest-free loan. This is the first year I'm getting a big refund, thanks to my advisor's advice regarding certain deductions. It was mentioned earlier in this thread that this all could potentially be fixed tonight. That would be great. If nothing else, this is all teaching me that patience is virtue---one that I'm woefully short on.
