Extremely unfortunate that a customer instead of a "tax expert" has to point out this important news. As well as another customer providing a workaround smh.
I efiled the federal first and was accepted.
now im trying to efile state and wont letme. Tells me back to select federal.
any body?
I filed both so not sure if you are seeing a new issue. I'd recommend clearing out your 1099-R and reentering it. Try this in the following order:
1- Clear cookies and cache in browser settings
2- Open TT and remove 1099-R
3- Renter 1099-R and click through everything and Start Over the State filing
4- Click through to the end
Maybe it will work.
It did not work.
it says:
Efile requieres federal return
to e-file, you must also select the federal return
click back to select federal and any other returns you’d like to file.
@ajd878787 thank you so much! I did exactly what you said and it worked for Hawaii state returns. 🙂
Any updates from TurboTax on this? There was a NY update last night but no new questions or changes to the form. How do we know when we can re-file?
There were no new updates today. It says "as early as 3/11" but there are no indications on whether the questions/screens are going to change or not.
Not sure how to start a new thread. Has anyone gotten their refund?
I filed 3 weeks ago. I pulled my tax transcript today. No notices from IRS. I do not see 8915-E anywhere in my transcript. Did the IRS not accept it?
did turbo tax efile do something wrong?
Form 8915-E will not show up in your transcript, unless that is a new option. Check your transcript to see if your Form 1040 for 2020 was processed. If it was processed and you have not received any error notices then all is well. There has been some returns processed using the form.
o qualify for Form 8915-E and to be exempt from the early withdrawal penalty due to COVID-19, a few rules have to be met.
1. You have to be a qualified individual. To qualify, one of these must be true:
2. The withdrawal had to come from an eligible retirement plan, which could be any of the following:
3. The distribution had to have been made in 2020 before December 31, 2020.
There is also a $100,000 distribution limit to the exemption. Any distributions over that amount, may be subject to the additional tax.

Good to know.
yup, all is processed. No letters or notices flagged on my transcripts so I’m just waaiittting!!
weird thing is my 3rd stimulus isn’t posted yet either. They just don’t like me this year lol!!
thank you!!
I was curious to know if anyone got an actual refund yet. I wonder if it is held up because of the form. Just curious.
Yes, many Americans have received the third stimulus payment as well as refunds. There are delays for many people, however, and it doesn't have to do with the form, but the new American Rescue Plan. It's affecting everything from refunds to stimulus payments to the filing of tax returns.
The IRS is reviewing implementation plans for the newly enacted American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Additional information will be forthcoming.

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
I filed a month ago and still waiting. It was accepted but no release date 😢

So I spread the payments out for three years how do I report that this year, is TurboTax ready for the form for 2022 yet?
