Well there's over a dozen kinds of 1099.  Where is it asking if you need to file a 1099?  That could be for several other 1099s too.  Or even a 1099NEC you need  to  prepare to give to someone you paid for business.  So  you need to include the letter like 1099R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099B, 1099NEC, 1099Misc, etc.

If you received a 1099 (e.g. 1099-R) , report it on your tax return.
