My 2020 Form 1099-INT has boxes 15 and 16 filled in, but not box 17. The Turbotax software is telling me that if box 16 is filled in, then box 17 should also have a value. What should I do to resolve this issue in Turbotax? I've contacted the institution that issued the form and they say it is correct. Should I remove the data from box 15 and 16 since there is no value in box 17? Is this a bug in the Turbotax software?
Yes, if Box 17 is empty, delete the state ID in boxes 15 and 16. And you can uncheck that box that says my form has amounts in boxes 15-17.
