As if Roth IRA recharacterizations, conversions, and keeping track of basis is not complicated enough, I'm getting even more confused with the On-Demand guidance and a possible numbering error as shown below.
When viewing the downloaded deluxe version and working through the Turbotax IRA contrib wks, the On-demand guidance doesn't appear to match the line numbers on the form. For example, the form line number 19 looks like it matches with the on-demand guidance for line 20, and these errors appear to trickle down throughout much of the on-demand guidance.
As a non-CPA, how do I know when I should be following the on-demand guidance numbering or the form numbering ?
Can Turbotax confirm the numbering within the on-demand guidance is not correct or should I be following it literally as written to complete the form?
Thank you for any thoughts!

This is a common problem with TurboTax. The line numbers in the On-Demand guidance rarely gets updated timely when the developers add or remove lines from TurboTax-specific worksheets. TurboTax Produce Quality gives low priority to such errors since the don't affect the calculations on the tax return. This particular discrepancy was introduced in 2020 TurboTax when the developers removed what was line 12 in earlier years, a line that served no purpose.
