IRS made adjts to my return as a result my refund amnt was incrsd. I've to file a correction in my 1099 form. How can i do that as IRS adj. doesn't reflect in Turbo Tax?

With IRS adjusting my returns how can it reflect in my returns in turbo tax so i can file any subsequent correction in my return. This is very confusing.I need help now to figure out how to file a correction when IRS had some adjustments done on my original that i filed through turbotax.

Did you get the IRS letter explaining the changes yet ?   You can ignore any interest the IRS added for the late payment.

No. I haven't yet received the letter. Online showed that adjustment. Will wait for letter. However is correction required to file on the original or the adjusted return from IRS? If adjusted return from IRS how will that work?

When amending a return the column A of the 1040X MUST reflect the IRS changes ... so in the TT program you must FIRST make the IRS changes and only when you have that correct will you start the amendment process.

Look at the form 1040X …

Column A should have the figures from the original return (or as corrected/changed by the IRS), Column C the corrected figures and Column B the differences between the other 2 which needs an explanation on page 2 of the form 1040X.

If you completed it correctly you will see an entry on either line 16 OR 18:

On line 16 should be the amount you paid with your original return.

On line 18 should be the amount of your original refund you received.

Then you will see your extra refund on line 22 OR  the new balance due you need to pay on line 20.
