I've entered several item, however cannot see where they are being tallied?

If you are referring to It's Deductible there are many problems with the new version. TurboTax is aware of them and is working on an update but has not provided a date for when it will be available. In the meantime, you can revert back to the classic version if you like. If you want to get back to the classic version of It's Deductible to make entries,

The page will show that you are logged out. At the top of the page is a small sign-in button.

Click sign-in and use your ItsDeductible login credentials to get access to the classic version of your account. 

You may need to log off the new version before logging in to the classic version.
