It does not count as income for credits etc. You must claim your social security amount into your return since you are filing a tax return. The program will determine if your Social Security is tax or not depending on your other income etc.
The income you earned from working may count for dependent/child-related credits--but not the SS income.
ALL of your income must be entered.
Do not try to enter your SSA1099 or RR1099RB as a W-2. Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
Look at your 2019 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received
