In every income section of the TurboTax program, when you are filing as Married Filing Jointly, you are asked who the income or form belongs to, by Name. Select the correct name for the income or form
In the personal info section when you are entering your info, it will ask you if you are married. When you answer that you are married, it will then ask if you want to file a return together. When you say yes, you will then see a question for your spouses name. If you do not see it, when you go back to the summary page you will see a space under your name to add a spouse.
In each of the sections that you fill out for income, you will then see the option to "Add a W-2" or add whatever form you are entering. Click on the add a form and when you do, be sure to select that it belongs to your spouse.
I filing joint return, only one residence address is provided.
During state filing review TT keeps on saying that "Joint return with taxpayer and spouse living in different taxing jurisdictions are not eligible for electronic filing"
I have triple checked, re-entered the personal info section, I am pretty sure everything is correct, my spouse and I have the same address.
When shall I correct this incorrect conclusion that TurtoTax made?
just to add one more detail: during review turbox tax found my spouse's county of residence was blank, I had to fill it in. But I don't know where that original page is.
