If the Social Security benefits are the Only income to reported on a 2022 tax return and you did not have federal taxes withheld from the benefits, there is no reason to file a 2022 return, with or without dependents.
If you did not have income from working you will not be eligible for child-related credits. Tax year 2021 was unique and you could get the child tax credit last year even if you did not work. But the law has changed back to the "old" law---you do not get CTC if your income was only Social Security. Sorry.
