I cannot get back to form 5329 to make a correction

To go back to correct the RMD total in TurboTax, you will not need to return to Form 5329. Instead, do the following:

  1. Return to your 1099-R entries by clicking Review to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) in the Federal Wages & Income
  2. Click on the pencil to the right of the 1099-R
  3. Click Continue through the entries you've made (Using rounded figures for the distribution amount, no cents), Continue, answering through next screens
  4. When you reach, "Let's get more information about your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), enter the amount of your RMD that was due by December 31, 2025 Continue
  5. On the next screen, "How much of this distribution applied to your December 31, 2025 RMD?",
  6. Select "Some of the distribution applied...", Continue
  7. Next, you will be asked, "Did you take out the remaining $ during the correction window?", Select, "Yes, I did", Continue
  8. When you reach, "Review your 1099-R summaryContinue (not the pencil)
  9. When you reach, "Let's go over any required minimum distributions (RMD), Select the pencil
  10. Next, you will see, "Did you miss taking the...RMD...?", Select "Yes", Continue
  11. Enter the amount of the RMD when you reach, "Tell us the Total RMD...", Continue
  12. Select "Yes", when asked, "Did you take a corrective distribution...?", Continue
  13. Do you want to request a waiver, select, "Yes", since you met the correction day for the remainder, Continue
