How do I enter income on the schedule C if I don't have a 1099. TT pushes me through a process that seems to require a 1099.

Worked as a contractor on a side job, earning less than $600.

You can report in as cash self-employment income. To do that in TurboTax follow these steps:

  1. In your tax return in TurboTax click Federal Taxes
  2. Then, Wages & Income
  3. In the Self-Employment section, next to Income and Expenses, click Start (or Revisit)
  4. When asked "Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?" select Yes
  5. You'll see the screen titled "Tell us the type of self-employment work you do." Enter your description, then Continue
  6. On the next screen "Let's get income for [description]" select the button Additional income and Continue
  7. The next screen will say "Tell us about additional income for your [description] work." and you can enter the amount of your income from the job.
