If you're Residents of Florida, and you have California-source income, you should indicate that Yes, you did make money in another state.
You'll need to file a Non-Resident State Return to California to report the income you earned there and any tax you paid there.
Here's more info on How to File a Non-Resident State Return.
Where do you live?
You owe a tax return to the state where your permanent residence is located, that reports and pays income tax on all your world-wide income for the year, no matter where it was earned. If you or your spouse earned income in a state other than where you lived, answer yes and let the program help you out. (If Florida is not your home state but is one of the "other states" where you earned income, answering yes or no won't make a difference since there is no state income tax.)
Also be aware, for the state of California:
If you are self-employed, California will tax you on income you earn from clients who are located in California, even if you never set foot in the state.
If you are a W-2 employee, California will only tax your income that you earn while physically living or working in California. If you work for a California-based company as an employee, but never physically live or work in the state, you don't have income that is considered "California-source".
