This is my first year for an RMD and I've withheld most of it is 2025 but there is still a small amount that I will withhold before April 2026. How do I enter this is TT? Do I report the amount I've withheld so far and then the remainder in 2026 in an extra RMD for that year? TT says: "Do not include RMDs which are due on April 1. RMDs for the first year you're required to take a distribution are generally due on April 1." So does this mean I put $0 for 2025 and the whole thing in 2026?

You will enter zero in this field. The due date to take your RMD for the first time is the following April; which in your case is April 1st, 2026. After that, your RMD deadline is December 31 of each year. The TurboTax screen is trying to figure out what the RMD was for the current year to determine whether you are subject to penalties or not. Since you weren't required to take out your 2025 RMDs by Dec 31st, you won't be subject to any penalties therefore, you will enter zero even if you still took out your RMDs before the year-end.
Thank you for the information. I still owe an RMD for 2025, payable by April 1, right? Do I add that 2025 amount (which has already been withdrawn) to the 2026 RMD when I do my 2026 taxes? I won't get another 1099 for the 2025 RMD. I'm very confused.
Right. You should get one 1099R at the end of 2026 for both RMD taken.
