Does a TSP Roth have an annual contribution limit of $5,500?

When I put in my numbers (over $5,500), it says I have gone over the limit, but a TSP Roth has a higher limit than a Roth IRA.

A Roth TSP is NOT a Roth IRA and is NOT entered in the section for contributions to a Traditional or Roth IRA.
Your account is similar to a 401(k) where your contributions are already shown on the W-2.
Delete the Roth IRA you entered.

So I should put nothing in box 12 of my W2?

Is there a code already entered in box 12 of the W-2?

Yes, AA-Roth contributions to a 401(k) plan. It was on my W2, so I assumed I should enter this into the TurboTax W2.

You enter your W-2 into the TurboTax program exactly as received.  The box 12 Code AA designates that your contributions are for a Roth TSP.  The TurboTax program uses that contribution amout to determine if you are eligible for the Saver's Credit.

Yes, I did that, and it tells me there is a $5,500 annual contribution limit for this box, which is false because the limit for a TSP Roth is higher than the limit of a Roth IRA. TurboTax does not acknowledge that what I contribute to is a TSP Roth, not a Roth IRA.

It must have been a kink in the system, because now it is accepting my numbers. Thanks for helping me.

Hmm...I just entered $10,000 on a W-2 box 12 with a Code of AA and had no issues with the program saying there is a limit on the contribution.
Delete the W-2 and manually re-enter the tax data as received.  That should clear any error flag.

Oh, and make sure there is not a Roth IRA entry in the Retirement section of the program as that may be also causing an issue.
