Yeah, this is a known error on the IRS side of the equation. They are trying to get it fixed and hope to have it done soon. I would wait and attempt to file again after February 6th.
I'm having this same issue. Can you share a link from IRS that acknowledges this error?
Thank you,
Marc
Is this the error code that you are getting FW2-001-01 The sum of all Form W-2s, 'WagesAmt' must not be greater than the sum of 'WagesSalariesAndTipsAmt' in the return and sum of all Schedule C Form 1040 . Try this resolution then;
Awesome tips - it worked. Thanks so much!
I didn't get an error code. Where would I find that?
Also, I'm not filing a Sch C. The issue seems to relate to a non-qualified pension.
Im having the same problem...
I did not get an error code also but my description matched that of this thread and the resolution posted above worked. In my case, it has entered values in line 10 and line 11 of the W2, I just had to 0 out line 10 and the issue was resolved. IRS accepted my return in under 15 min.
