Can I file a 1040A with only SSA and 1099 retirement income electronically?

Last year I filed 1040A with only SSA and 1099 retirement income. IRS kicked it back indicating I needed to file manually with attached income forms. Please advise.

If you end up with taxable income below the filing requirement, (not including Social Security) you can file by mail but not e-file.  Filing requirements are as follows:

Single Under 65 -$10,400,
          65 or older $11,950

If your filing status is other then Single, please post back with more detail

If that's your taxable pension income, yes, you can.  Remember Social Security does not count.
