When entering the 1098-T electronic form into my taxes box 5 had $ listed. When I got the physical form in the mail a few days later that figure was listed in box 4.

Box 4 is an adjustment for the prior year. You'll need to know what that adjustment was, or if the school reported the 1098-T incorrectly. 

Contact the school if you do not know what the adjustment was.
