My wife 70 in January 2018. I understand she must take her RMDs before April 1,2019. If the RMDs are received in 2019 before April 1, are they 2018 or 2019 income?

2019. She must also that the 2019 RMD in addition before Dec. 31, 2019. Both amounts will be reported on a 2019 1099-R next year after Jan 31, 2020.
