I entered the 1099R info from my husband's 401K Distribution with no problem. When entering the info from the 1099R for his Pension Plan income, I'm asked the same questions as the 401K. All the boxes are the same, the distribution code is the same (7), but they are not the same accounts. Shouldn't they be treated differently? I'm confused *sigh*

The Form 1099-R for the 401(k) distribution and the Form 1099-R for the pension income are exactly the same. The questions posed by the software are also the same.
And 401K and pensions go on the same line on your tax return. Line 4c & 4d. Only IRA is split out to lines 4a & 4b.
