When I went into the IRA-R section it shows that this section is not available until Jan 11, 2024. The payment deadline is January 15th. That leaves a four-day window. Why would the product not have this available now, or at least by end of December?

If you are using the 2024 TurboTax desktop editions, click on Forms.
When in Forms mode click on Open Form in the upper left of the screen. Type in 1099-R. Click on the result to open the form.
If you are using the 2024 TurboTax online web-based editions you will have to wait for the software to be updated on 01/11/2025.
I am using the Windows desktop version. I was able to open (create) the form 1099-R, which I have never had to do before. So, my question is when I fill out this form and save it will the program then take into account this new data, show me my approximate taxes due for my Jan Payment?
Do you want to pay the balance due on your return? Open the 1040 form and look at line 37. Assuming you entered all the other estimated payments you made and all your income.
It's 2/1/25 and the online system hasn't been updated for the 1099-R. It's hard to imagine why since it was supposed to be ready by 1/11. State file isn't loading either.

Have you updated your software to the latest release? The Form 1099-R section was updated 3 weeks ago.
Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen
Click on Check for Updates
It is now Feburary 15th 2025 and I am still getting that I cant file just yet. This may mean a better tax outcome for taxpayers like you who have 2024 Qualified Disaster Distributions. We can keep working on your tax return and well let you know when we can help you finish up your taxes.
When is this going to be ready to process? It is a continuous loop to check everything and make sure all the numbers are correct, just to be given this message again.
What is the fix for this?
@dycemann The IRS Form 8915-F Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements is estimated to be available for filing in TurboTax on 02/20/2025.
